Episode Three – The Feast: The
Eucharist and Holy Days
The third series episode centers on
the idea of the feast, whether celebrated at the communion table or during
special holy days and seasons. In
part one of this episode, viewers will learn how many of the current rites and
rituals surrounding the Eucharist, or Communion or the Lord’s Supper as it is
also called, have deep roots in the earliest traditions of the Christian
faith. The second half of this
episode examines how the holy days and seasons that are prevalent in the
Christian celebration of worship are connected to the feast days of Old
Testament Jewish worship. Viewers
will meet Rabbi Michael Wolf, a Christian by faith practice and a Jew by
heritage, who will describe the significance of feast days and holy seasons in
his personal worship and in the corporate worship life of the Beth Messiah
Congregation.
