Dr. James Abbington
Dr. James Abbington is Associate Professor of Church Music and Worship at Emory University and Executive Editor of the African American Church Music Series. Dr. Abbington completed his master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Michigan and has authored several books on music and worship, African American sacred folk music, and ethnomusicology.He has served as the national director of music for both the Progressive National Baptist Convention and the NAACP.
